A British woman who was secretly filmed racially abusing passengers on a packed London tram has been arrested after the video was posted online.
The expletive-ridden clip, which was uploaded to YouTube on Sunday, shows a woman sitting with a child on her lap ranting at ethnic minority passengers to “go back to where you came from”.
Some commuters became visibly upset as the woman shouted “you’re not British” and claimed her country had been ruined by the influx of immigrants.
The woman angrily challenged a mother on board who complained about her swearing loudly in front of children, before another passenger intervened, saying “I’m British, what have you got to say to me?”.
A British Transport Police spokesman said a 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of a racially-aggravated offence after the video was posted online, the BBC reports.
“The video posted on YouTube and Twitter has been brought to our attention and our officers have launched an investigation,” the spokesman said.
The incident happened on the Croydon to Wimbledon Tramlink route, but police are yet to clarify when it took place.

As a traveling navigator, we have heard this attempting of insulting many, many, many times: In China, in Japan in America in France in evil Holland in Germany in Austria in former Yugoslavia [Seribia]. As Divine Black beings we have been displaced from our homeland, while our homes are under occupation by human monsters expressing falsehood of supremacy, we are forced to take on pseudo-false-identities. Thus many of us with black skin are unaware of the truth when confronted with ignorance. The land we are all currently standing on, it was our home before evil sweep in and claimed the resources for their so-called kings and queens.
In China, we were known as the little black people even up to and during the Qing dynasty of 1644 to 1911, we were living all over the Southeast area of what is called Asia today.
